Resonance updates CinemaVision

MRI audiovisual developer Resonance Technology of Northridge, CA, is planning to launch new features for its CinemaVision entertainment system at the upcoming RSNA meeting in Chicago.

Resonance is planning to display CinemaVision with an adjustable high-resolution panel mounted directly inside the MRI bore and a mirrored audio/video headset for delivering all-digital entertainment to the patient. The enhanced system delivers all-digital 240,000-pixel video resolution and stereo sound to patients undergoing MRI procedures, the company said.

The company believes that the reflective delivery method is more comfortable and reliable for patients, and eliminates the traditional heavier 3D goggles used in most MRI entertainment systems. In addition, without the complexity of wired connections, the mirrored headsets simplify patient set up and enhance reliability and flexibility of the device.

In other new RSNA launches, Resonance Technology will introduce for its VisuaStim functional MRI line a high-definition 1280 x 1024 dots per inch (dpi) LCD panel for larger-scale images and low signal-to-noise ratio. The new panel features two built-in eye-tracking cameras for precise vision monitoring and is compatible with the new 32-channel brain imaging coil for MRI scanners manufactured by Siemens Healthcare of Malvern, PA. The company said that traditional 1280 x 1024 screen sizes do not provide an unobstructed screen view using this coil.
