The shortage of workers in certain healthcare specialties is resulting in generous salaries, sign-on bonuses, and other benefits.
In its 2007annual report on compensation and benefits in the healthcare industry, Irving, TX-based recruiting firm Martin, Fletcher found that radiology ranks second -- behind only invasive cardiology -- with an average salary of $425,000 and a median salary of $392,700.
The study also noted that CT technologists earn between $18 and $35 per hour, depending in which region of the U.S. they are employed.
The survey gathered data from more than 2,000 healthcare organizations that include more than 35 physician, nurse, and allied health specialties.
