Dutch regulators OK Petten restart

Radiopharmaceutical producer Nuclear Research and Consultancy Group (NRG) has received approval from Dutch regulators to resume service at its High Flux Reactor (HFR) in Petten, the Netherlands.

Maintenance and repairs to the facility, which produces a significant portion of the world's supply of molybdenum-99 (Mo-99), are almost complete.

NRG anticipates the HFR restart will come in early September and it will be manufacturing Mo-99 by mid-September. The reactor has been offline since February for planned maintenance.
