U-Systems adds site to clinical study

Ultrasound developer U-Systems of Sunnyvale, CA, has signed Radiology Regional Center in Naples, FL, as a site participating in the company's somo-InSIGHT clinical study.

Radiology Regional Center is recruiting participants in southwestern Florida for the study, which is designed to evaluate whether digital mammography in combination with U-Systems' somo.v automated breast ultrasound system is more sensitive in detecting breast lesions than mammography alone for women with dense breasts.

The study design anticipates accruing 20,000 women enrollees to determine the efficacy of using both imaging techniques for this specific group of women.
