Hitachi plans RSNA debut for virtual sonography

Hitachi Medical Systems America will showcase its Real-time Virtual Sonography (RVS) tool at next week's 2009 RSNA meeting in Chicago.

The feature allows Hitachi ultrasound systems to import volume datasets from modalities such as MRI or CT, and then correlate the data with a live ultrasound image, according to Hitachi of Twinsburg, OH. Hitachi said it believes that RVS will make ultrasound-guided biopsies and ablation procedures simpler and faster.
