Hologic, Johns Hopkins APL ink pact

Women's imaging vendor Hologic has signed an agreement with the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), receiving exclusive, worldwide rights to the Laurel, MD-based lab's bone health analysis technology.

The hip structure analysis (HSA) method and its prediction of bone strength has been the subject of more than 30 peer-reviewed publications, according to Hologic of Bedford, MA. Hologic said it will be integrating HSA into its densitometers.
