Calgary Scientific launches PureWeb software

Canadian advanced visualization software developer Calgary Scientific of Calgary, Alberta, has launched a new software platform called PureWeb, designed to support the Web-based delivery of software applications.

PureWeb enables applications to be delivered with full functionality over a Web browser without any client-side downloads, according to the company. It works with Internet Explorer, Safari, or Firefox and supports the company's ResolutionMD products as well as third-party applications.

Calgary Scientific believes that PureWeb will enable the integration and virtualization of multiple applications from different vendors on a single platform that's accessible over the Web. PureWeb will also save costs by enabling users to operate with one unified system and centralized architecture, eliminating the need to manage compatibilities between different workstations and operating systems.

PureWeb also supports "software as a service" models, removing the need for users to make a capital investment.
