Voxar raises $7.3 million

Three-dimensional software developer Voxar has completed an investment round that brings £5 million ($7.3 million) into the company's coffers. The cash infusion is the firm's fourth major fundraising, and sets the stage for an initial public offering in the next 12 months, according to the Scottish company.

In announcing the investment, Voxar noted that the firm's annual revenues have quadrupled, to $1 million. The company's main product, Plug 'n View 3D, enables inexpensive PCs to perform complex medical imaging 3-D rendering techniques.
