CMT Medical Technologies

(Booth 3259) Digital radiography (DR) developer CMT Medical Technologies of Yoqneam, Israel, will showcase two work-in-progress product families in its booth at RSNA: its PrestoDR family of DR units and its Duet family of digital radiography/fluoroscopy (R/F) and angiography systems.

PrestoDR includes PrestoDR Elite, a single-detector upright system for chest applications; PrestoDR OmniX, a single-detector multipurpose universal arm for all radiographic exams; and PrestoDR GeminiX, a dual-detector device designed for high patient throughput.

The systems are based on CMT's DuraRad-QSL flat-panel detectors, which feature image areas of 17 x 17 inches, as well as an optional SmartStitch package for extended image length of up to 47 x 17 inches.

The Duet line includes Duet Lite, a basic digital R/F device based on a charge-coupled device (CCD) technology; Duet RF, a mid-tier R/F system based on a high well capacity CCD camera; Duet DSA, a premium digital R/F and angiography unit, also based on a high-well CCD camera; and Duet DRF, another premium unit based on Pixium 4343 flat-panel detectors. Duet products are designed to retrofit existing fluoroscopy or angiography rooms, according to CMT.

CMT expects both the PrestoDR and Duet lines to be commercially available in the second quarter of 2009, pending U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance.
