Amicas

(Booth 2583) Amicas of Boston will launch the new version of its Vision Series RIS software at RSNA 2007.

The upgrade introduces major enhancements to the software, including advanced work queues to optimize order entry and scheduling workflows. It also includes advances in native HL7 integration capabilities and advances in scalability for complex practices.

Vision Reach 2.0 also will debut at RSNA 2007, extending the technology's functionality to include follow-up order entry. Referring physicians will be able to order a follow-up exam, as well as receive instantaneous secure notification when a report is available.

Vision Reach also integrates radiology reports with images to create a single multimedia report for referring physicians. The product then uses common e-mail and secure messaging to deliver images, reports, and information to any e-mail-enabled device.

Vision Reach is available as standalone software for referring physicians, or in combination with the Amicas Vision Series line of products, including RIS, PACS, and financial software.

Another highlight at RSNA 2007 will be Amicas' RadStream tool, which is designed to automate and document critical results communication and prioritize imaging exams based on a "most likely to interrupt" method.

RadStream, developed and implemented at Cincinnati Children's Hospital, was found to improve radiology report turnaround by more than 50% and reduce interruptions to radiologists by nearly 25%.

Amicas acquired the technology in 2006 and integrated it into the company's RealTime Worklist software. RadStream also complements the Vision Reach referring physician portal to deliver a combination of image management and workflow technology.

In addition, Amicas will show Insight Dashboards, a Web-based business intelligence platform designed to access customized, near-real-time graphical data for performance metrics and indicators, including clinical and operational factors.

Insight Dashboards also allows users to navigate through the regulatory environment with access to industry-standardized reports, customizable ad hoc query and report authoring ability, and business analytics with data mining capabilities.
