Cerner will showcase a new optional update for its ProVision PACS product, as well as upgrades to its integrated ProVision RIS/PACS.
The Kansas City, MO, firm will highlight its ProVision PACS Mammography Imaging for breast imaging radiologists. The application provides radiologists with the opportunity to review studies from different modalities, and provides tools for the unique needs of breast imagers. The optional module has received European CE Mark clearance, as well as a U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k), and is available now worldwide.
Cerner will also feature its MultiMedia Foundation (MMF) application within the ProVision PACS, which integrates digital images and objects within an electronic medical record (EMR), allowing for the compilation of a comprehensive patient record, the company said. The latest iteration permits DICOM ECG objects to be acquired and sent directly to the care provider team. The MMF feature provides for the storage and management of these objects, as well as radiology and cardiology images, documents, photographs, and video images.
The latest version of Cerner's unified RadNet RIS/ProVision PACS features enhancements to optimize workflow, improve access to clinical information, and eliminate unnecessary clicks, the company said. An automated order approval and prioritization tool is included that allows a radiologist to review and approve a study based on the reason for the exam and clinical correlation found within an EMR. Once the study is approved, the radiologist can forward it to a scheduling queue based on priority, Cerner said.
The company will also demonstrate its online reference tool for radiologists, ConnectIT, which provides the capability to access online data or content quickly from the radiologist's desktop.
