Richardson Electronics

(Booth 7520) Richardson Electronics of LaFox, IL, will feature its Image Systems High Bright Color LCDs, as well as Image Systems' new line of Professional Series diagnostic and clinical displays, at the 2008 RSNA show.

The FP2202CHBP model is a 2-megapixel display with a 21.3-inch screen; the FP2080CHBP model is a 3-megapixel display with a 20.8-inch screen. Both displays employ backlight stabilization circuitry with 170° horizontal and vertical viewing angles, an embedded front sensor, and Image Systems' Calibration Feedback System (CFS) software, allowing users to perform their own color point calibration and color matching.

The displays are designed for diagnostic imaging and clinical applications requiring a fusion of grayscale and color imaging, such as PET, 3D, cardiology, and nuclear medicine.

The 2-megapixel (FPP1960), 3-megapixel (FPP2080), and 5-megapixel (FPP2130) grayscale displays sport a slimmer bezel design, which includes illuminated on-screen display controls within the bezel, a new ambient light sensor control, and support for the new luminance uniformity control (LUC) that provides more than 90% luminance uniformity across the display to meet the DIN display standard.

Richardson also will promote Image Systems' revision H3 of the company's Calibration Feedback System software for diagnostic imaging displays. The latest release includes storage in the display of the "front sensor-to-center puck" calibration, making it "out-of-the-box" DICOM-compliant. It also includes storage in the display of initial DICOM calibration data generated during the final display quality control check in the factory, which is read at initial installation and incorporates floating point calibration up to 12 bits.
