Speech recognition technology developer M*Modal is stepping further into the artificial intelligence (AI) world to deliver a smarter reporting workflow for radiologists and improved clinical outcomes for patients, the firm announced during RSNA 2017.

M*Modal's Speech Understanding software now enables dictation directly into a PACS so that radiologists do not have to toggle between two systems. The system then inputs the AI-generated clinical insights, the radiologist's annotations to the image, and anatomical description directly into the final report.
