Varex releases new x-ray offerings at RSNA 2017

Varex Imaging unveiled its latest x-ray components, including imaging tubes and detectors, and software, at RSNA 2017 in Chicago.

The new compact cardiovascular tube is capable of high patient throughput and lower dose, is lightweight with high power, and has a small package size.

The integrated CT tube package incorporates a CT tube, generator, high-voltage connector, heat exchanger, and tube control unit. It's scalable across 16, 64, 128, 256, and higher slice platforms.

Varex also released several new complementary metal-oxide semiconductor (CMOS) and amorphous silicon-based flat-panel digital detectors for radiography, all tiers of mammography, and fluoroscopy.

Additionally, Varex has manual and automated collimators for fixed and mobile systems that are small in dimension and feature automatic exposure control with low absorption rate sensors and 100% shadow-free.

In terms of software, Varex has new software applications for planning, acquisition, and analysis such as Nexus workstations, CBCT image processing software, Veolity lung screening workstation and computer-aided detection software, and MeVis Online Academy, a web-based training for all imaging applications.
