Carestream Health plans to demonstrate new optional metal artifact reduction software for its OnSight 3D extremity system at the upcoming RSNA 2017 meeting.

The software allows radiologists and orthopedic surgeons to more accurately diagnose a patient's condition and develop treatment plans, Carestream said. Users can then adjust image processing according to the amount of metal present. The software uses data from the original OnSight scan, eliminating the need for additional imaging studies, according to the firm.
