Swedish nuclear medicine software developer Hermes Medical Solutions has released its Remnant liver analysis software to bring surgical planning to its hybrid viewer platform.

The application is designed to assist in preoperative assessment of future remnant liver function in patients who are being considered for or need liver resection.

The application uses dynamic planar and SPECT/CT studies. The additional functional information has been shown to reduce the number of patients who experience postoperative liver failure, the firm said.

Hermes is featuring the Remnant liver analysis software in its booth at RSNA 2016 in Chicago.
