November 20, 2012 -- Imaging software developer TomTec Imaging Systems has received 501(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for its Image-Com 5.0 software.
The software is an addition to the company's Image-Arena image management portfolio of products. It combines 2D and 3D imaging into a single viewer, and provides access to the entire TomTec cardiology and radiology application portfolio to analyze even proprietary data formats.
Image-Com 5.0 automatically imports measurements from modalities such as ultrasound, provides labeled echocardiography and vascular measurements, and exports the results to a patient's electronic record.
TomTec plans to highlight the software at next week's RSNA 2012 meeting in Chicago.
