PACS vendor Sectra plans to launch an extended image sharing package at ECR 2017 in Vienna.

The package is an extension of Sectra's existing software, and it will allow healthcare providers to securely share medical images not only with other facilities and clinicians, but also with patients and insurance companies, giving patients better access to their medical data, the company said.

Sectra plans to make the package available to customers in the spring.
