Radiologist repeats as poker champion

A radiologist from Pennsylvania has been crowned champion in the seniors category at the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas for the second straight year.

Dr. James Moore, a radiologist from New Hope, PA, won the Super Seniors category for players older than 65, according to an article on PokerNews.com. He won $259,230 in the competition, which had a buy-in of $1,000.

After besting 1,476 players at the 2016 Super Seniors event to win his first World Series of Poker bracelet, Moore defended his title by outlasting 1,720 players this year. He is only the sixth player in the history of the World Series of Poker to repeat as champion in the same event.
