Philips, ISRRT again hold dose management contest

Philips Healthcare parent Royal Philips and the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) have launched the third annual ISRRT DoseWise Radiographer of the Year contest.

The contest is intended to increase awareness about the risks of radiation dose exposure during diagnostic imaging. It recognizes radiographers from around the world for their efforts to improve dose tracking, measurement, and overall reduction, according to Philips.

The winner will be chosen based on the project that best demonstrates dose management practices. Practicing radiographers who are citizens of an ISRRT member country or an associate member of ISRRT may apply via an online quiz as well as a written submission. ISRRT will provide the winner with airfare and registration for the annual RSNA meeting, Philips said. The deadline for submission is September 30.

Finally, Philips is also launching a case of the year contest, taking submissions from Philips CT users who used the company's iterative model reconstruction (IMR) algorithm to reconstruct low-dose images. Winners of the contest will be recognized at RSNA 2015.
