SuperSonic wins Japanese regulatory approval

French ultrasound technology developer SuperSonic Imagine has received regulatory approval in Japan for its most recent Aixplorer ultrasound scanner.

The system is being marketed in Japan by Konica Minolta Medical Imaging through an exclusive distribution agreement signed by the two firms in January 2015.

Aixplorer provides real-time shear-wave elastography to quantify tissue stiffness in a broad range of clinical applications, such as breast, liver, prostate, thyroid, and musculoskeletal assessments, according to SuperSonic Imagine.
