Paxeramed offers image sharing via social media

PACS and RIS software developer Paxeramed has debuted a secure image-sharing module for social media.

The module allows users to share selected images anonymously to different social media platforms including Facebook and Twitter in a single click without disrupting workflow; images are uploaded in a secure and compliant manner, the company said.

Radiologists can create and share images for a second opinion or interactive teaching purposes, and they can access thousands of comparison images for differential diagnosis.

The module incorporates a preview mode and makes anonymizing shared images mandatory. The tool delivers enterprise-grade security control through enabling or disabling the feature based on administrator-configured retention policy, the firm added.

The module is currently pending U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance.
