RSNA board names new leaders

The Radiological Society of North America (RSNA) named Dr. Theresa McLoud as its new president during the organization's annual meeting in Chicago this week.

McLoud, associate radiologist in chief and director of education for the department of radiology at Boston's Massachusetts General Hospital and professor of radiology at Harvard Medical School, also in Boston, is considered a pioneer in thoracic radiology and an advocate of radiologic education worldwide.

As RSNA president, McLoud plans to continue focusing on the needs of the international radiology community, and quality-improvement initiatives as they pertain to adult education.

RSNA's board also named Dr. Gary Becker as president-elect before the annual meeting adjourned. Becker is a professor in vascular and interventional radiology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine in Tucson. Effective January 1, 2008, he will become executive director of the American Board of Radiology (ABR). Since 2006, he has served as ABR's associate executive director for diagnostic radiology and subspecialties.
