Hospital management provider Concord Medical Services announced that construction has begun on a proton treatment building at Beijing Proton Medical Center.
The center will be an independent proton radiotherapy institution established by Concord Medical and China-Japan Friendship Hospital in Beijing. In January 2018, a proton therapy system from Ion Beam Applications (IBA) will be installed; the first treatment room will be completed in the first quarter of 2019, Concord Medical said.
The company expects four treatment rooms to be operating by the first quarter of 2020.
