Yee to chair Montefiore radiology as Amis steps down

Dr. Judy Yee has been appointed chair of the department of radiology at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein Medical College in New York City, replacing Dr. Stephen Amis, who is stepping down after 25 years.

Yee has been a professor and the vice chair of the department of radiology and biomedical imaging at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), as well as chief of radiology at the San Francisco VA Health Care System. She also has been the director of the 3D Imaging Laboratory at UCSF.

On the research side, Yee is well-known for being one of the pioneers of virtual colonography for colorectal cancer screening and diagnosis. She is the author of the primary textbook in the field and also more than 150 publications on techniques for imaging of the liver, pancreas, and gastrointestinal tract, according to a memo to staff and faculty at Montefiore/Einstein.

Yee will be taking over her role as department chair in September.
