Elekta readies new Monaco release for AAPM 2016

Radiation oncology firm Elekta will debut version 5.11 of its Monaco treatment planning software at next week's American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) annual meeting in Washington, DC.

The latest release can provide calculation speeds up to four times faster than previous versions and can also now be run in the cloud, according to the vendor. Monaco 5.11 has already been installed at a number of customer sites, including Ottawa Hospital in Canada.

Elekta will also highlight an upgrade to its Mosaiq oncology information system at AAPM 2016. The new version adds features such as the firm's IQ Scripts Plan of the Day and e-prescribing for controlled substances, Elekta said.
