ASTRO names Gold Medal winners

The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has awarded its Gold Medal this year to three clinicians and researchers.

This is the 30th consecutive year that ASTRO has presented the award, which is the society's highest honor. The recipients are as follows:

  • Benedick Fraass, PhD, director of medical physics in the department of radiation oncology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center
  • Dr. Christopher Willett, chair of radiation oncology at Duke University Medical Center
  • Dr. Anthony Zietman, director of Harvard Medical School's radiation oncology residency program

The three winners will be recognized at a ceremony to be held during ASTRO's annual meeting in September in Boston.
