Dr. Talissa Ann Altes has been named chair of the department of radiology at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
Her full-time appointment becomes effective January 1, 2016, but she will begin working part time at the university in September. Altes most recently served as vice chair of clinical research and an associate professor of radiology at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
She also previously served as director of clinical research in the department of radiology at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, and she has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, according to the University of Missouri.
