The American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) has a new executive vice president, vice president of advocacy, and director of health policy.
Emily Wilson has been named executive vice president, Dave Adler was promoted to vice president of advocacy, and Anne Hubbard was promoted to director of health policy, as announced by ASTRO's board of directors and effective immediately.
Wilson will ensure that ASTRO's strategic plan is implemented and will oversee ASTRO's Clinical Affairs division, according to the organization. Wilson has been with ASTRO since 2005, first as director of government relations.
Adler previously was director of government relations; in his new role, he will oversee both ASTRO's government relations and health policy departments. He also leads ASTRO efforts to collaborate with medical specialty societies, patient advocacy organizations, and other healthcare coalitions.
Hubbard joined ASTRO in May 2014 as assistant director of health policy. In her new role, she leads ASTRO's efforts regarding the economics of managing a radiation oncology practice, including the analysis of Medicare and non-Medicare payor reimbursement policy decisions, ASTRO said. She will also help with the development of ASTRO's payment reform initiative.
