Cephasonics unveils new ultrasound API release

Ultrasound technology and subsystems developer Cephasonics has introduced version 3.0 of its ultrasound application programming interface (CS-API).

CS-API version 3.0 incorporates new and enhanced functions, including parallel beamforming; Doppler modes such as color-flow mapping, power Doppler imaging, and pulsed-wave Doppler; duplex/triplex modes; and PCI-Express host-interface support, according to the vendor.

Cephasonics said it will demonstrate the embedded-ultrasound technology this week at Medica in Düsseldorf, Germany, and at the 2012 RSNA meeting in Chicago in November. The new software will be available in the first quarter of 2013 from Cephasonics and its worldwide network of distribution partners.
