NEC adds displays to MultiSync line

NEC Display Solutions of America launched two new medical-grade displays for diagnostic imaging to its MultiSync MD Series at the 2012 RSNA meeting in Chicago.

The 2-megapixel (MP) MD211C2 has a resolution of 1600 x 1200 with 900 cd/m² brightness. The 3-MP MD211C3 has a 2048 x 1536 resolution with 800 cd/m² brightness. Both feature 21.3-inch IPS panels with wide viewing angles, factory calibrations to the DICOM grayscale function for luminance, digital uniformity correction, 14-bit internal lookup table, and GammaCompMD quality assurance software for worry-free calibration and conformance testing to the DICOM standard.

The displays have a 70% smaller front sensor that constantly monitors calibration and corrects for fluctuations of light output and color, maintaining the factory calibration throughout the life of the monitor, according to the company.

The MD211C2 and MD211C3 are pending U.S. Food and Drug Administration 510(k) clearance, and will be available in early 2013. They will include a five-year parts and labor warranty with advanced overnight exchange.
