Cerner to launch SkyVue cloud viewer at RSNA

Healthcare information systems firm Cerner plans to launch a cloud-based image viewer at the 2012 RSNA meeting in Chicago later this month.

Cerner SkyVue is a customizable viewer platform that enables users to use one image viewer both inside and outside of the healthcare enterprise. The platform can be used for diagnostic reading or for broad image distribution by allowing organizations to view multimedia and nondiagnostic images side by side in any Web browser, according to the company.

The SkyVue platform also allows clinicians across the enterprise discussing the same patient to have the same view of and availability to the patient's electronic health record (EHR).
