Siemens shows Somatom go CT platform at Arab Health

Siemens Healthineers is demonstrating its new Somatom go platform of CT scanners at this week's Arab Health 2017 congress.

First introduced at RSNA 2016, Somatom go is designed to enhance patient comfort during CT scans, and uses a mobile, tablet-controlled workflow that Siemens believes eliminates the need for repeat scans and decreases waiting times and workloads. The line consists of the Somatom go.Now and Somatom go.Up systems.

In addition, automated postprocessing provides a basic level of training for staff to carry out examinations, particularly during peak times and emergencies.

Also at Arab Health, Siemens cited a recent survey that found 48% of United Arab Emirates residents feel anxious about a CT scan. Among more than 1,000 respondents, people said full-body scans are more intimidating than other routine tests like x-rays (11%), blood pressure checks (6%), and blood tests (28%).
