Waiting period expires for Hologic's Gen-Probe buy

  • Hologic had announced in April that it would acquire diagnostics firm Gen-Probe in a $3.7 billion deal. The transaction still remains subject to customary closing conditions, including clearance from the German Federal Cartel Office. The deal is expected to be completed in the third quarter.

    Both companies said that integration planning efforts are well under way.
