The app, called Early Detection Plan (EDP), can schedule reminders via push notifications to perform routine breast self-exams and schedule clinical breast exams and mammograms, according to the foundation. It can be tailored to each user, considering age and health history to determine optimal scheduling for both self and professional exams, NBCF said.
The app also includes information about clinical breast exams, mammograms, and breast cancer risk factors, signs, and symptoms, along with tutorials on how to properly perform a breast self-exam.
