Economic factors and decreased purchasing activity among cardiology providers slowed the cardiology informatics market starting in 2009, the report found; the market earned revenues of $210.4 million in 2010. But the report suggests that once providers have met the requirements for the first stages of the U.S. government's meaningful use program for electronic medical record implementation, the CIIMS market will start to benefit from IT stimulus funding starting in 2014.
The report, Analysis of the North American Cardiovascular Image and Information Management Systems Market, includes analysis on the following markets: standalone cardiology (C-PACS), standalone cardiovascular information system (CVIS) modules, and integrated single-vendor CIIMS (C-PACS/CVIS).
