Jonathan Grimes succeeds Jim Kirker, who will remain with the company and continue to provide ongoing operations support, according to the firm.

Grimes has held roles at TeamHealth, Straub Hospital and Clinic, Phycor, and Delta Healthcare, Optimal IMX said.

The company has also named Barry Smith as chairman of its board of directors. Smith is an operating partner at Health Evolution Partners and currently serves on the boards of Magellan Health Services and CenseoHealth.
