  • The new coil suite, when combined with GE's Optima 450w GEM MR system, is designed to provide high-resolution, large field-of-view imaging of the head and neck during radiation therapy planning, according to the vendor. It allows these patients to be imaged with their face area fully open, offering an improved patient experience, GE said.

The suite provides diagnostic-quality images of the head, neck, and brachial plexus anatomies.

GE is showcasing the suite at this week's European Society for Radiotherapy and Oncology (ESTRO) forum in Geneva.
