Providing neuroradiologists with current information about the status of brain tissue during interventional procedures offers advantages for stroke treatment and is also helpful for tumor biopsy and treatment, tissue embolization, and vasospasm therapy, according to the Malvern, PA-based vendor. Clinicians can also receive blood-volume data for the whole brain and review the information from any orientation, Siemens said.
The software, which utilizes the firm's syngo DynaCT cone-beam CT technology, is the second functional imaging application for Siemens' Artis zee interventional radiology and cardiology portfolio.
