Each year, AHRQ selects new members to replace participants who are completing their appointments.

Task force members volunteer their time and are appointed by the director of AHRQ to serve four-year terms. Candidates must be well-versed in the critical evaluation of research and the methods of evidence, as well as the implementation of evidence-based recommendations.
