In September, the ABMS board of directors and the ABMS reserved powers board approved the certificate, which will be offered by the American Board of Radiology.

Physicians who become board-certified in interventional radiology and diagnostic radiology will demonstrate the following:

• Competency in diagnostic imaging to ensure the appropriate, safe, and efficacious guidance of current interventional procedures
• Competency in the technical aspects of interventional procedures
• The clinical judgment and skills to participate as team members in the periprocedural care of patients undergoing interventional radiological procedures
