National Quality Forum names new president

  • Cassel will assume leadership of the organization in the summer of 2013.

    Cassel is currently president and CEO of the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) and the ABIM Foundation; she announced plans to leave that position in April 2012. She also was the first woman president of the American College of Physicians and the first female dean of Oregon Health and Science University.

    She also serves on President Barack Obama's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology.
