Varian wins $77M Saudi proton contract

  • Varian will equip the Saudi Particle Therapy Center at King Fahd Medical Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a ProBeam system for five treatment rooms and also two TrueBeam medical linear accelerators, according to the firm.

    Varian expects to begin delivering and installing equipment in the spring of 2013; patient treatments are scheduled to begin in late 2014. The agreement with King Fahd Medical Center will also include a multiyear service contract, Varian said.
