Enhancements to XiO include an improved intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) segmentation algorithm, fluence map smoothing, and DICOM dose import capability via the Focal system, according to Elekta.
Version 4.62 of Focal now includes treatment plan summation for any number of plans, allowing for determination of cumulative dosimetric effects, Elekta said. In addition, new planning and contouring improvements support Elekta linear accelerators using the company's MLCi2 multileaf collimator, the company said.
Elekta has also added new capabilities with Monaco 3.0, including Dynamic Conformal Arc (DCA) therapy. DCA, which recently received U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 510(k) clearance, can deliver conformal stereotactic plans by using the multileaf collimator to dynamically conform around a target as the treatment beam rotates around the patient, Elekta said.
Monaco 3.0 also supports micro multileaf collimators, including Elekta's work-in-progress Apex multileaf collimator. Other new features include planning with multiple isocenters, plan review and summation from any number of plans, and the ability to save summed dose from multiple plans into a single plan, Elekta said.
