  • In a March 28 letter, the company noted that it planned for the shutdown of the High Flux Reactor (HFR) by the Nuclear Research and Consultancy Group in Petten, the Netherlands, earlier this month and the scheduled mid-April shutdown of Atomic Energy of Canada's National Research Universal (NRU) reactor in Chalk River, Ontario.

"During the HFR and NRU shutdowns, we will continue to source our molybdenum generator supply through our diverse supply network," the communiqué read, "and we currently anticipate a stable Tc-99m supply" through the end of May.

Cardinal Health added that it also expects a "stable Tc-99m supply outlook" to continue for the rest of this year.
