Perspective is designed for community hospitals, critical access hospitals, and outpatient centers, offering facilities the ability to extend the range of available examinations to their communities at reduced radiation dose in a budget-conscious environment, according to Siemens.
As a standard option, the unit includes Siemens' sinogram-affirmed iterative reconstruction (SAFIRE) CT algorithm, a method for iterative CT image reconstruction. SAFIRE helps users reduce dose by up to 60% compared to previous filtered back projection techniques, the company said.
Perspective also features eMode, which automatically selects system scan parameters so the scanner operates with as low a load as possible, as well as fully assisting scanner technologies (FAST) that automate time-consuming and complex procedures, according to Siemens.
Perspective has a 194-sq-ft footprint and detector coverage of 3.8 cm, the company said.
