Dutch regulators OK Petten restart
Article Thumbnail ImageJuly 21, 2010 -- Radiopharmaceutical producer Nuclear Research and Consultancy Group (NRG) has received approval from Dutch regulators to resume service at its High Flux Reactor (HFR) in Petten, the Netherlands.

  • Maintenance and repairs to the facility, which produces a significant portion of the world's supply of molybdenum-99 (Mo-99), are almost complete.

    NRG anticipates the HFR restart will come in early September and it will be manufacturing Mo-99 by mid-September. The reactor has been offline since February for planned maintenance.
