GE receives NIH MRI grant

  • The Niskayuna, NY-based GE unit said the technology could reduce system costs and make siting easier in underserved areas. If the proposed magnet technologies are developed, MRI systems using the technology could have cost and siting requirements similar to today's low-cost, permanent magnet systems, but with a higher field strength and image quality comparable to existing premium superconducting systems, GE said.
