1st-year radiologists make more than $300K
May 27, 2011 -- The median salary for first-year postresidency or fellowship radiologists in the U.S. was $350,000 in 2010, according to a new report by the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

MGMA's "Physician Placement Starting Salary Survey: 2011 Report Based on 2010 Data" report also found that median diagnostic-noninvasive compensation was $288,000. As for all physicians' first-year compensation (excluding first-year postresidency or fellowship), median diagnostic-invasive salary was $400,000, while median diagnostic-noninvasive was $350,000, according to MGMA.
The report includes data on 4,295 providers categorized by specialty and also starting salary information on 1,986 physicians directly out of residency or fellowship, MGMA said.
