Aloka adds features to ProSound

Ultrasound vendor Aloka is incorporating an automated nuchal translucency (NT) thickness measurement and precalibrated settings into its ProSound ultrasound systems.

The features are designed to reinforce the accuracy of first-trimester screening for chromosomal diseases by reducing human error and the subjectivity that can affect the reliability of these measures, according to the Wallingford, CT-based company.

With the introduction of Auto NT, results could be standardized as image analysis algorithms will automatically detect the points to be measured, ultimately increasing accuracy, Aloka said.
